A new feature enabling Brex users to proactively request increased spending limits and reduce declined card payments.
Challenge
Employees entrusted with spending privileges through Brex cards and budgets can be blocked from paying for transactions because of outdated spending limits, outdated policies or administrative errors. This can often result in business lost, unnecessary reimbursement requests created and embarrassing moments.
Solution
Empower end-users to initiate spend limit increase requests through a dedicated limit increase request function, instead of relying on spend managers. Managers can then review and approve requests seamlessly, whether on the web or on the go via the Brex mobile app.
Results
After release, declined payment transactions were reduced by 4%. From the 1,000+ requests created daily 82% are accepted or declined within two hours. The feature has since become a premium offering reserved for the higher tier plans and it has a 76% percent adoption rate saving countless hours of unnecessary back and forth communication between card users and managers.
