An end-of-year celebratory moment for users highlighting key stats in a fun and endearing way reinforcing SimplePractice's value.

Challenge

Cancellations and downgrades are seasonal at SimplePractice. December and January are when the company experiences the highest churn rate because of new regulations, changes in client’s insurance plans and burn out.

Solution

A new end-of-year recap to celebrate the valuable work our users do, highlighting our customers’ achievements to inspire optimism for the new year, show their work’s impact, and reinforce SimplePractice’s role as more than just a service—a true partner.


Also, launch a marketing campaign to amplify our customers’ work, leveraging aggregated data across all customers to increase awareness and drive new trials.

Results

In just two short months, a scrappy, cross-functional team was able to launch the 2024 Year in Review. And by partnering with our marketing team, an awareness campaign was developed and launched simultaneously with touch points across web, email and our social channels. A first for the company.


Over 137,000 users (more than 55%) saw the 2024 Year in Review, more than 12,000 social media impressions were made, and the company saw an increase of 3% in trials generated year over year in the month of January 2025. The churn rate was not affected.
