Improving the Brex dashboard for users to manage their company spend and support the migration of legacy customers.
Challenge
Brex card users were spending within their limits but the company spend was not being properly allocated resulting in more work for accounting teams and unreliable reporting.
Additionally, Brex had over 3,000 customers on their legacy platform who couldn’t transition into the new Empower platform because it didn’t scale to support legacy users who relied on the virtual card workflows of the previous system. As a result, the company faced the costly challenge of maintaining two systems.
Solution
A simplified dashboard which better aligns to user’s mental models related to budgets, a user interface that scales whether a user has one or hundreds of cards, and improved discoverability of important actions.
Results
Within six months of releasing the new Your Wallet dashboard all of Brex’s legacy customers had migrated to the new Empower platform streamlining operations and unlocking more resources. CX tickets related to accounting discrepancies were reduced by 12%.
